In pursuit of chickens, with apple

July 11, 2011

These aren’t my chickens. We went to visit them a few blocks over, free range with their own coop to be mustered into at the end of the day. Violet picked the apple from one of the two trees. I wish we did have chickens. I even have a space marked out for them, in the back of the garden beside the wild strawberries and the lemon tree. I’m sure chickens would be excellent for lemon fertilisation. Then I’d get to collect the eggs, still warm, a few white feathers stuck to their speckled shells.

I love how close Violet looks to your representations of her in the blog! Beautiful.
