Beware of apples, 4

July 4, 2011

Newton figured out his version of gravity – velocity and mass – by watching an apple fall from his mother’s tree. Apparently it didn’t hit him on the head, but it’s a much better story if it did. And another interesting Newton factoid: he wrote lots more on Biblical hermeneutics and occult studies than he did on physics. I wonder what it would be like to take tea and apple cake with him.

And his version of gravity is still satisfactory today more almost everything. Only the perfectionist needs more
