Apple Potter
My son, Otto, is very keen on comics. He loves the old-school ones – Asterix, Tintin, Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes – as well as new ones – Dav Pilkey, Lunch Lady and Kazu Kibuishi. He spends hours reading them and giggling. He is always offering me suggestions as to what I could do for my apple blog, and has been nagging me for a while to do one about Harry Potter as a wizard apple.
‘Why don’t you do it for me?’ I said.
‘Okay, I will.’ Otto got out his felt-tip pen and quickly drafted his strip.
‘Do you want to do a neater version?’
‘No, this is fine.’
‘What’s that scribbly bit?’
‘They’re battling with their wands.’
‘And what’s the Robot doing?’
‘Can’t you see? He’s eating Harry Potter.’
So. Here you go. Presenting ‘Apple Potter’ by Otto Lane.
That is absolutely gorgeous Otto, well done! As good as your mother’s.
Hey Otto that was AWESOME!!!!
Finally! I have always thought what this blog needs is more Harry Potter. This is fantastic. Thanks Otto.
great drawings, otto! keep drawing comics. 🙂
wonderful, such a lot of characters
I went to respond and thought do I need to – I’ve already responded (being melissa) talk about existential doubt and paranoia about split personalities occurring.
Apple smack down
I love how Harry, Ron and Hermione are instantly recognisable, even as apples. Also: Apple Vader! LOL
This is awesome. 🙂
I think I liked Apple Vader the best – perhaps your next one could be Luke SkyApple vs Apple Vadar? Nice work, Otto. Love your comics. 🙂
I LOVE your interpretation of Cinderella, Otto. She is so quirky looking, and she is the most kick-butt Cinderella ever. (I know I’m allowed to say ‘butt’ here since you read Dav Pilkey.)
Well done Otto. You have a great imagination.
Otto, it was about time that Mr Vader got faced down by Harry and the crew. Cool comic!
My goodness Otto. Do you think your mother will expect you to stay up late and do her work now? There is a law about children working though. If you want me to be your union representative let me know!
Apple Vader. Genius! Keep drawing Otto – you’re a natural 🙂
What I should have said was: the apple didn’t fall far from the tree – (ask your mother what that means)
This is fantastic! I laughed out loud. Love it. Well done, Otto!
That’s great! I really enjoyed reading it. Well done, Otto!
That’s fantastic Otto, you made me laugh out loud. Love Apple Vadar and who does that Cinderella think she is trying to sneak in huh?!
Excellent!… I’ll forward to Brent and see if he can get Otto a gig in the next Bristle…
Otto, you’re so science. Am very glad to see CInders banished, Leia Organa a far superior being. Bye!
Well done Otto 🙂 But….you’ve eaten Apple Potter! How will you do a sequel?
No, no, Cinders beats HP resoundingly here, doesn’t she? Shall we have a literary discussion on our respective interpretations?
Nice – I’d like to see what the robots do next now they have been powered up by an apple.
